Welcome to the 2019 Bake...

Last year we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Association and the commencement of Aurora Disability Services' day programme.

This year, as we are looking towards the future we'll also be exploring the past on this blog - both the history associated with the Anzac tradition and Aurora.

So please join us as we again bake up a storm for 13 days. As always the funds raised will assist the continued operation of our programmes and facilities.

And of course we wouldn't be able to do this without our many supporters - from the businesses and organisations selling the biscuits for us, suppliers, volunteers; and of course all our loyal customers who return year after year to buy our biscuits (we hope you are enjoying some as you check out our blog!) - a big thank you to all of you.

If you would like a basket of biscuits for your business to sell, please email us at
auroradisability@auroradisability.org.au or call us on 6273 0916.

Another day, another biscuit

With Team 3 from Vodafone we got going this morning and here's what they did...

Ready for it!!!

Eric, Maree and Laurie busy at the butter table.

With Jackie and Sandra on the other side.

Adele cutting some more tray liners.

Skye assisting Josh cutting the ribbon to length.

This looks like ribbon gymnastics!
Layla threading with great style.

With these smiles this will be a great mix -
Debbie and Sam working with Bryce.

The smiles continue into the rolling -
Jennifer busy in the kitchen.

More smiles in the pantry - Cherie and Rebecca.

I'm doing what???!!! 5 ovens can be a daunting prospect,
but Ally took it all in her stride!

Debbie measuring out some more bicarb for the next mix.

Mel at the lifting table.

Di and Rebecca are putting the finishing touches to another order.

Oooopppssss! Jason and a basket or two...

Something went astray late yesterday but fortunately our customers are an understanding and helpful lot...with one order delivered to the wrong place they very kindly called the correct recipient who very obligingly drove over in her car to collect it! Then even drove to Mill Lane to deliver empty baskets back for us to refill...thank you Jacquie!

These 'passengers' are city bound.

Afternoon crews - Sandra and Rebecca threading ever more gumnuts.

Josh writing the dates with a little help from Fiona.

Utter concentration - Louise getting the labels perfectly straight.

This butter and syrup mix will be just right, Rachel is making sure of that.

Mel taking a turn at ovens.

Ally and Jackie have the pantry sorted.

Along with Gary and Robyn.

Packing, packing, packing -
Sam still has time to smile.

And so has Karen, along with the other Vodafone team members and some of our staff, still hard at work long after the trainees have finished for the day. Thank you folks for your help.

And that's Day 8 done and dusted, all that remains to be done is tally up today's orders delivered and see what we're up to. Then tomorrow we do it all again! See you then.
